Cocktails, why?

Despite the fact that I think even the very best bourbon cocktail ever concocted is a step back from a neat pour, I do believe that out of 15 bartenders crafting the same drink one of them likely does it better than the other 14, and I'd like to commend that bartender by enjoying their superior impression of an inferior drink.

It's a Long Road

Bourbon and Music

Tonight I grabbed the Big Man Small Batch and paired it with the dulcet tones of Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit. It's a combo I highly recommend. Neither are for the faint of heart, both come at you straight and unfiltered, and after a few spins with either one, I'm singing my ass off!

It was exciting to see how much this place was buzzing on a Sunday afternoon. After I snuck in and occupied a seat near the end of the bar, nearly every seat in the place filled up shortly after. My server, Hanna, expertly moved between the customers coming in, taking orders, mixing drinks, and then popping back over to me for the next pour in my tasting flight.
